Balcony won the Grand Jury Prize in category of Animated Films at the 29th Festival D’Angers – European First Film Festival. The short animation was directed by Dávid Dell’Edera, a graduate student of the METU Animation BA program.

By focusing on the discovery of new talents in European cinema and on revealing its cultural heritage, the Festival Premiers Plans D’Angers has become an emblematic highpoint in the cultural year.  The aims of the Festival are to present European directors and to discover film history and heritage. The event highlights the diversity of European cinema by bringing together professionals on questions relative to the production and circulation of European films and educates a new public on European cinema. One of the patrons of the festival is Jeanne Moreau. Among those discovered at Angers are Fatih Akin, Danny Boyle, François Ozon, Joachim Trier, Athina Rachel Tsangari, Thomas Vinterberg and Paolo Sorrentino.

Each year, more than 100 first films are screened, directed by 100 new European filmmakers: - Around 70 films in the 6 categories of the Official Competition: European first feature films, French first feature films, European first short films, French first short films, European student films, European animated films.

More than 170,000 Euros are given out in awards by juries and audiences at the end of the Festival.
